Senior or Principal Mining Engineer

In response to the increased demand for our services, AMC Consultants is looking for a Senior or Principal Mining Engineer to work in our Vancouver office.

Now a bit more information about the role
General skills required:
  • Operational experience in underground and / or open pit mining.
  • Sound working knowledge of a broad range of planning and operations practices.
  • Expert knowledge in a range of mining methods and all aspects of mine engineering.
  • Solid experience in the areas of project management of technical studies.
  • Good experience in Mineral Reserve estimation.
  • Good working knowledge of mine planning software packages.
  • Good working knowledge of underground mine capital and operating cost estimation.
  • Strong technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Experience mentoring more junior engineers.
  • Experience in and / or an inclination for business development.
Additional skills well considered:
  • Experience in shafts and hoists at design or at  sinking stages.
  • Experience in backfill.
  • Experience in due diligence activities and auditing.
Qualifications required:
  • A degree in mining engineering with more than 10 years of practical experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above.
  • Registered as a P.Eng. in British Columbia or be eligible to apply for registration.
The salary package offered for this position will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
