AMC is pleased to announce that, even during these times of uncertainty, the demand for our expertise has meant our team continues to grow. We would like to welcome the principal mining engineers, Pooya Mohseni and Gene Tucker to our global team. They will be based out of our office in Vancouver and together bring almost four decades of mining industry experience across a range of commodities and regions.

Gene Tucker

Principal Mining Engineer

Gene is a principal open pit mining engineer with 23 years experience. He has extensive operational and corporate experience in coal, copper, gold, and molybdenum throughout North and South America and Greenland with mines moving up to 200 Mtpa. Gene has held senior technical and operations positions with multiple companies including Vice President, Technical Services with Conuma Coal Resources, Mine Planning Superintendent for Detour Gold and Taseko’s Gibraltar mines, some of Canada’s largest open pit mines. He was part of the team that brought the Sierra Gorda copper-molybdenum deposit in Chile from PEA to construction and the Mine Manager at KGHM’s Franke Mine through construction into operation. Gene has been responsible for mine planning and operational improvements resulting in significant operating cost reductions at numerous mines. He is also proficient with the use of Minesight’s suite of software.

Pooya Mohseni

Principal Mining Engineer

Pooya is a principal mining engineer, with more than 15 years’ experience in open pit and underground mining. He has extensive experience managing teams in both mine operations and corporate offices. Key areas of focus for Pooya include operations management, mine development, strategic/detailed mine planning, developing and implementing strategies, budgeting, forecasting, feasibility studies, mineral reserve estimation and reporting, permitting, and reclamation and closure planning. Pooya has held senior technical and operations positions including Director, Integrated Planning for Goldcorp, and Director, Technical Services for Capstone. In addition, he gained substantial cold climate experience after operating as Mine Manager for the Minto Mine in the Yukon for five years. Pooya has experience with precious and base metals and operations in North and South America as well as Asia.
