Our office in Vancouver is currently seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer with excellent technical ability, expertise in the application of software for underground design, scheduling and optimization, business development ability and capable of providing top-quality consulting services. The best candidate will have a balance of operational experience together with excellent software skills and demonstrated ability to communicate through reports and presentations with key stakeholders. Specialist Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience in underground mine planning and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including senior management, technical professionals and operational personnel
  • Experienced user of mining software, such as Datamine, Deswik and Vulcan, expertise includes stope and schedule optimization
  • Strong technical, leadership and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to establish new, and maintain current, client relationships
  • Experience in undertaking technical studies, trade-off studies, cost estimation and project evaluation
  • Experience in open-pit mining is desirable but not essential

Qualifications Required:

  • A degree in mining engineering with minimum 10 years of practical experience relevant to the responsibilities listed above
  • Registered as a P.Eng. in British Columbia or be eligible to apply for registration
